This summary is based on reports from exporters for the period June 10-16, 2022.
Wheat: Net sales of 477,800 metric tons (MT) for 2022/2023 primarily for Japan (163,900 MT), Mexico (163,900 MT, including decreases of 2,100 MT), South Korea (83,100 MT), Ecuador (30,000 MT), and the Philippines (28,800 MT), were offset by reductions primarily for Nigeria (23,800 MT) and El Salvador (18,800 MT). Exports of 336,300 MT were primarily to the Philippines (132,700 MT), Thailand (56,900 MT), Mexico (41,300 MT), Guatemala (26,000 MT), and Jamaica (22,900 MT).
Corn: Net sales of 671,900 MT for 2021/2022 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for Mexico (475,000 MT, including decreases of 900 MT), Japan (158,600 MT, including 68,000 MT switched from China, 51,600 MT switched from unknown destinations, and decreases of 1,300 MT), Colombia (39,000 MT, including 40,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 3,400 MT), El Salvador (29,000 MT, including 18,600 MT switched from Nicaragua), and unknown destinations (16,600 MT), were offset by reductions primarily for China (67,200 MT). Net sales of 358,400 MT for 2022/2023 were primarily for Costa Rica (144,900 MT), Mexico (137,500 MT), unknown destinations (37,500 MT), Colombia (30,000 MT), and Japan (5,500 MT). Exports of 1,147,300 MT were down 17 percent from the previous week and 26 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (338,600 MT), Mexico (258,800 MT), Japan (246,500 MT), Taiwan (69,800 MT), and Colombia (60,300 MT).
Optional Origin Sales: For 2021/2022, the current outstanding balance of 218,300 MT is for unknown destinations (175,000 MT), Italy (34,300 MT), and Saudi Arabia (9,000 MT). For 2022/2023, the current outstanding balance of 35,400 MT is for Italy.
Barley: Total net sales for 2022/2023 of 1,600 MT were for South Korea. Exports of 500 MT were to Japan.
Sorghum: Net sales of 94,300 MT for 2021/2022 were up noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Increases were reported for China (60,300 MT) and Mexico (34,000 MT). Exports of 151,200 MT were up 13 percent from the previous week, but down 11 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destination was China.
Rice: Net sales of 20,100 MT for 2021/2022 were down 74 percent from the previous week and 41 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for Mexico (9,900 MT), Saudi Arabia (5,600 MT), Japan (2,100 MT), Canada (1,700 MT), and El Salvador (800 MT, including decreases of 1,600 MT), were offset by reductions for Guatemala (1,200 MT) and Taiwan (100 MT). Net sales of 2,900 MT for 2022/2023 were reported for Guatemala (1,700 MT) and El Salvador (1,200 MT). Exports of 52,700 MT were down 49 percent from the previous week and 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Haiti (15,200 MT), Japan (12,200 MT), Guatemala (10,000 MT), El Salvador (8,900 MT), and Canada (2,500 MT).
Soybeans: Net sales of 29,300 MT for 2021/2022–a marketing-year low–were down 91 percent from the previous week and 88 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for Germany (68,400 MT), Colombia (17,600 MT, including 17,000 MT switched from unknown destinations and decreases of 400 MT), Canada (10,900 MT), Japan (7,600 MT, including decreases of 55,000 MT), and China (6,300 MT, including decreases of 198,000 MT), were offset by reductions primarily for unknown destinations (92,400 MT). Net sales of 265,000 MT for 2022/2023 reported for unknown destinations (105,100 MT), Costa Rica (75,500 MT), China (66,000 MT), and Japan (25,000 MT), were offset by reductions for Mexico (6,600 MT). Exports of 494,100 MT were down 30 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (121,500 MT), Egypt (105,200 MT), China (73,200 MT), Germany (68,400 MT), and Pakistan (58,200 MT).
Export for Own Account: For 2021/2022, the current exports for own account outstanding balance is 6,300 MT, all Canada.
Export Adjustment: Accumulated exports of soybeans to the Netherlands were adjusted down 68,416 MT for week ending May 26th. The correct destination for this shipment is Germany.
Soybean Cake and Meal: Net sales reductions of 8,200 MT for 2021/2022–a marketing-year low–were down noticeably from the previous week and from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for the Dominican Republic (21,000 MT), Canada (13,600 MT, including decreases of 4,300 MT), Venezuela (5,000 MT), Colombia (4,000 MT, including decreases of 41,700 MT), and Japan (3,600 MT), were offset by reductions primarily for the Philippines (42,200 MT), the United Kingdom (10,000 MT), and Ireland (9,000 MT). Net sales of 42,300 MT for 2022/2023 were reported for Honduras (15,600 MT), Guatemala (12,000 MT), El Salvador (12,000 MT), and Canada (2,700 MT). Exports of 214,000 MT were down 5 percent from the previous week, but up 6 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Colombia (87,800 MT), the Philippines (24,800 MT), Canada (24,800 MT), Mexico (23,600 MT), and Nicaragua (12,600 MT).
Soybean Oil: Net sales of 1,400 MT for 2021/2022 were down 78 percent from the previous week and 69 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases reported for Mexico (4,000 MT) and Canada (400 MT), were offset by reductions for Guatemala (3,000 MT). Exports of 7,700 MT were down 53 percent from the previous week and 16 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were to Mexico (7,200 MT) and Canada (500 MT).
Cotton: Net sales of 16,200 RB for 2021/2022–a marketing-year low–were down 39 percent from the previous week and 90 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for Vietnam (6,300 RB, including 3,700 RB switched from South Korea and decreases of 2,200 RB), China (4,500 RB, including decreases of 200 RB), Mexico (2,800 RB), Thailand (2,400 RB, including 200 RB switched from Japan), and India (2,200 RB), were offset by reductions primarily for South Korea (3,700 RB) and Pakistan (1,600 RB). Net sales of 277,300 RB for 2022/2023 were primarily for China (238,100 RB) and Mexico (32,600 RB). Exports of 371,900 RB were up 11 percent from the previous week and 1 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (117,200 RB), Turkey (83,800 RB), Vietnam (50,800 RB), Pakistan (23,300 RB), and Mexico (18,100 RB). Net sales of Pima totaling 1,300 RB were up 41 percent from the previous week, but down 13 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases reported for China (800 RB), South Korea (300 RB), Vietnam (300 RB switched from India), Japan (100) RB), and Mexico (100 RB), were offset by reductions for India (300 RB). Exports of 5,600 RB were down 15 percent from the previous week and 41 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (2,200 RB), Pakistan (1,000 RB), Thailand (900 RB), India (600 RB), and Indonesia (400 RB).
Optional Origin Sales: For 2021/2022, options were exercised to export 3,400 RB to Vietnam from the United States. The current outstanding balance of 15,400 RB is for Vietnam (12,900 RB) and Pakistan (2,500 RB).
Export for Own Account: For 2021/2022, new exports for own account totaling 18,500 MT were to China (9,300 RB), Indonesia (5,900 RB), and Vietnam (3,300 RB). Decreases of exports for own account totaling 200 RB were reported to Vietnam. The current exports for own account outstanding balance of 36,600 RB is for China (24,300 RB), Vietnam (6,400 RB), and Indonesia (5,900 RB).
Hides and Skins: Net sales of 446,200 pieces for 2022 were down 22 percent from the previous week, but up 6 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for China (244,300 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 15,000 pieces), Thailand (81,000 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 700 pieces), South Korea (52,500 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 1,000 pieces), Mexico (26,300 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 1,300 pieces), and Brazil (14,900 whole cattle hides, including decreases of 700 pieces), were offset by reductions primarily for Canada (900 pieces) and Peru (600 pieces). Exports of 349,500 pieces were down 32 percent from the previous week and 18 percent from the prior 4-week average. Whole cattle hides exports were primarily to China (181,000 pieces), Mexico (60,800 pieces), South Korea (53,900 pieces), Thailand (28,800 pieces), and Brazil (9,600 pieces).
Net sales of 250,700 wet blues for 2022 were up 40 percent from the previous week and 63 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases reported for China (182,400 unsplit, including decreases of 100 unsplit), Italy (62,700 unsplit and 4,500 grain splits), Vietnam (29,800 unsplit), and Taiwan (1,500 unsplit), were offset by reductions primarily for Mexico (15,400 unsplit) and Thailand (9,500 unsplit). Total net sales of 1,000 wet blues for 2023 were reported for Mexico. Exports of 147,800 wet blues were down 20 percent from the previous week, but up 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to China (49,200 unsplit), Vietnam (36,300 unsplit), Thailand (28,100 unsplit), Italy (19,900 unsplit), and Mexico (10,300 unsplit). Net sales of 65,700 splits were up noticeably from the previous week, but down 78 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases reported for Taiwan (46,500 pounds) and Vietnam (21,500 pounds, including decreases of 1,300 pounds), were offset by reductions for South Korea (2,300 pounds). Exports of 554,700 pounds were down 4 percent from the previous week, but up 26 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Vietnam (428,300 pounds).
Beef: Net sales of 11,200 MT for 2022 were down 36 percent from the previous week and 39 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases primarily for Japan (4,700 MT, including decreases of 600 MT), South Korea (2,600 MT, including decreases of 500 MT), China (1,400 MT, including decreases of 400 MT), Canada (500 MT, including decreases of 100 MT), and Mexico (500 MT), were offset by reductions primarily for Chile (100 MT). Total net sales of 100 MT for 2023 were reported for Japan. Exports of 19,100 MT were down 4 percent from the previous week, but up 3 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Japan (5,400 MT), South Korea (4,500 MT), China (3,300 MT), Taiwan (1,300 MT), and Mexico (1,100 MT).
Pork: Net sales of 25,400 MT for 2022 were down 8 percent from the previous week and 10 percent from the prior 4-week average. Increases were primarily for Mexico (15,200 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), Japan (2,200 MT, including decreases of 300 MT), China (1,900 MT, including decreases of 200 MT), South Korea (1,800 MT, including decreases of 900 MT), and Canada (1,300 MT, including decreases of 700 MT). Total net sales of 2,200 MT for 2023 were reported for South Korea. Exports of 28,900 MT were up 4 percent from the previous week, but down 1 percent from the prior 4-week average. The destinations were primarily to Mexico (12,600 MT), Japan (4,400 MT), China (3,900 MT), , South Korea (2,500 MT), and Canada (1,700 MT).
